Your Path to Lasting Relief Starts Here with Non-Invasive Spinal Decompression

Discover How Spinal Decompression Relieves Sciatica

If you're suffering from sciatica, you know how debilitating the pain, tingling, and numbness can be. Often caused by a herniated or bulging disc compressing the sciatic nerve, sciatica can make everyday activities feel impossible. At Mid-Mo Chiropractic, we offer spinal decompression therapy as a non-invasive, effective solution to relieve sciatica pain and get you back to living pain-free.

How Spinal Decompression Helps Relieve Sciatica

Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine, creating space between the vertebrae and reducing pressure on the discs. This therapy specifically targets the area of the spine affected by sciatica, helping to realign and reposition any bulging or herniated discs. As the disc moves back into its proper place, it relieves the pressure on the sciatic nerve, reducing pain, tingling, and numbness down your leg.

By enhancing circulation and promoting healing, spinal decompression helps your body recover naturally, without the need for invasive procedures or medications. If you're looking for lasting relief from sciatica, spinal decompression might be the solution you’ve been searching for.

How 3 Common Conditions May Be Helped

  1. Herniated discs: With this condition, you have the jelly-filled doughnut (the disc or cushion) and through wear and tear and injury, that gel or disc can either fragment or rupture. That disc can enter spaces where the nerves are that it’s not supposed to. The result is that it can cause sharp low back pain, pain in your leg, tingling and numbness. With non-surgical spinal decompression, we put a patient on the table and specifically target the disc that’s injured. The table gently and safely pulls the discs apart to open up the space between the two bones. This is called a reverse vacuum effect.

  2. Sciatica: Sciatica is an irritation of the sciatic nerve that could be caused by a disc rupture, bulging disc or disc injury. If the doctor determines—through an exam and tests—that spinal decompression may help, here’s how it works: the spinal decompression table will help pull and create space for that disc through intradiscal pressure, which helps take the disc back into its cavity. By doing that, it takes the pressure off the sciatic nerve.

  3. Spinal stenosis: With this condition, the holes where the nerves come out of are irritated and inflamed. The cause of the stenosis is compression, stress and inflammation. The table would pull apart, decompress and create less stress in the system, and the decompression would relieve a lot of stress off those nerves, alleviating the symptoms.
